We have a very special friend we were seeing on Sunday, who needed a quilt and a big pot of homemade Chicken soup. So this Christmas quilt had to be finished very quickly! It went on the frame Friday night, was bound Saturday night, washed, laid out to dry, and labeled just in time to walk out the door to deliver it. I'm very pleased with how it turned out!
So here she is, Christmas quilt 2013! I rotated the star points from point up to on the axis, every other one… I like the movement, and it's less obvious then all the same… I have a hard time making the "all the same" quilt. Which explains the many scrappy patterns, and fabrics… I also ran out of LIME green, and the circles, 5 are a slightly lighter version, then the others, even though that is hard to see on this photo. You can see int eh top photo with the backing I used some Jennifer Paganelli fabric I had been savoring, I mean, SAVING, for just the right project…I did not have enough for the backing so I used the leftover Jess Wheelahan Fabrics, screen printed letters and numbers, and one bit of Kona green! I love the mixture of the traditional print and modern stuff… So good.
Now back home by the fire, Beatrice and I whipped up a batch of Hot cocoa powder to last us the winter season… The recipe is over at my Recipe blog:
Time for some appliqué by the fire… It's pouring with rain, and does not feel an OUNCE like Christmas season, here.. My grass is as green as the lime centers on my quilt… Go figure!
